I used ume boshi paste in place of most of the salt. You could also use ume boshi vinegar. It's the secret to the yummiest soups ever.
enjoyed the soup. I added 1/4 cup sauerkraut per serving and it gave it added flavor without changing the points.
good flavor and filling
We made this soup just the way the recipe says and it turned out great. Then we made it again and added a jar of home canned tomatos and used chicken broth. It did not change the points and it was better.
